Review of Rock & Rule (1983) by Ray D — 12 Nov 2008
Crudely Animated Canadian movie from the early 1980's about a Satanic Rock Star in some kind of futuristic earth who is trying to kidnap a singer and use her voice to summon a giant demon, and it is up to her band to save her.
The story's minimal and the animation's crude, but it's an interesting artifact of the time, and has a surprisingly solid soundtrack, with Iggy Pop, Lou Reed and Earth, Wind and Fire all contributing decent numbers.
A glorious mess, and the type of movie that they probably can't get made anymore.
