Review of Rock & Rule (1983) by George A — 14 Apr 2011
Okay, by today's standards, the animation isn't the best, but during the late 70s/early 80s animators were trying to get out of the Disney mold (even Disney itself at that point, with features like The Black Cauldron and so forth). The visual effects were ground breaking in that they used computers to generate some of the flashier visuals. This was before Pixar was even a mote in Steve Jobs' eye. If there was any property that should be remade, it's this one.
Short and Dirty: Rent. It's fun, but some folks may not care for some of the themes in it, and the animation is pretty dated, but if you're into pop culture and cult classics, this is worth a look.
