Review of Rocco and His Brothers (1960) by Matias F — 21 Jun 2007
A jewel of post-neorealist cinema which showed the sad reality of a southern family moving to northern Italy during the industrialization age of the country. Told in six chapters as for each of the brothers focusing in their relationship with each other and specially with the 'weakest' and most naive, Rocco, exquisitely performed by Alain Delon. Beautiful.
Perhaps Visconti's masterpiece.
