Review of Robots (2005) by Movie K — 19 Sep 2009
A lovable, funny animation movie. I think the robots are really cute and original. Ewan McGregor voice the lead robot Rodney. Since young he always gets old and used parts. When he grows up, he invented one flying robot.
He wanted to go to the city to find a job as an inventor under Big Weld (Mel Brooks). But when he arrive, he realise he is gone and the company is run by a money making guy, master mind by his evil mum, and decided to stop producing spare parts, instead selling upgrade parts.
Rodney was booted out and got to know Fender (Robin Williams), a funny robot and his gang including Piper (Amanda Bynes) and stay with them. He decided to fix the old robots who came to him for help. Soon more came to find him, but the spare parts are running out.
At the party where they assume Big Weld will appear, Rodney was almost caught but was save by one of the manager. She brought him to Big Weld but was disappointed by his answer. He almost return back home but changed his mind.
In the end he and the gang bring the downfall of the evil plan. Big Weld continue to produce spare parts and Rodney returns home with pride and dreams fulfilled. He will be the successor.
