Some of the most captivating art direction sadly derailed by a lack of emotional resonance in the cast. Too much emphasis placed on mainstream-based musical sequences and over-the-top camera moves prevent the viewer from absorbing the incredible detail woven into the backgrounds.
Yet there are some magical scenes that pop up now & again, which only proves that the material is there - it just wasn't developed properly.
