Review of Robot World (2015) by Hannah R — 29 Jul 2018
I picked this up expecting it to be a dumb action movie about a pilot and his fight against poorly animated robots. It was not that. It started out interestingly enough, filling you in on why Captain James (the pilot) is being sent out to the planet.
James arrives, things go wrong, and he crash lands on the planet. I thought this would be where the robots come in, but no, not yet. he explores around a bit, fails at contacting his own world, and after several more days, finally encounters said robots.
it doesn't go well, and he has to run away. After several more days of wondering, he finally encounters a dog like robot that isn't dead set on killing him. through that "dog", he eventually discovers the real mysteries about the planet and its inhabitants.
this movie really surprised me- like I said, I went in expecting a poorly made action movie, and this certainly isn't that. it starts out boring, yes, but the mysteries later on in the film were intriguing enough to keep me watching, and I ended up liking it, it was a nice twist!
