Review of Robot & Frank (2012) by Alex M — 21 Sep 2012
While I went in expecting this to be a comedy film, it still offered a pleasant surprise nonetheless.
Frank Langella, having had a string of stinkers since his dynamite performance in Frost/Nixon, finally hits a homer this time around in this one. His performance in this movie is nothing short of wonderful. His stubborn personality bounces off Robot's (Peter Sarsgaard's voice) mechanically naive and persistent persona very effectively, resulting in many humorous and heartfelt moments, which in my opinion are the backbone of this film and what makes it so entertaining.
I was able to catch this at a small theater about a half hour from my house. Totally worth it. If you have the chance to see this film, go and check it out.
