Review of Robot & Frank (2012) by Marina N — 26 Jan 2013

A surprisingly clever, funny and enjoyable movie this was. Frank Langella stars in this film and he plays a retired cat burglar, who's suffering from physical and mental health issues, so his son Hunter, played by James Marsden, buys him a robot.

At first, Frank doesn't like the robot very much, but when he finds out the robot can help him pull off a heist, he starts to like the robot as a partner and even as a friend. Robot & Frank, has a lot of dry comedy, which I did like and it has a really interesting tone and atmosphere to it as well, which I also liked.

The story was a little weird at first, but after a few minutes I got really into the movie, I started liking the characters, the humour was great and I thought Frank Langella was excellent in this film.

The co-stars in the film were really good as well, like Susan Sarandon was good, James Marsden played a good role as Frank's son Hunter, Liv Tyler played a pretty decent role as his daughter Madison and Peter Sarsgaard did an awesome job doing the voice of the robot.

I thought this film had great chemistry between Frank and the robot, which does sound strange, but seriously after watching this movie you will think the same thing. This movie also had some great comedy, the drama was also done very well, they also put a little bit of a twist in the movie, which was pretty cool because I didn't even see it coming, so I thought it did a good job at that as well.

All in all, I think this movie was really good, I think it was well acted and well written, so give it a watch.
