Review of Robot & Frank (2012) by John H — 10 Aug 2013
At first sight, something of a slight tale about Frank (Langella), ex jewel thief in danger of losing his marbles, and the robot minder delegated by his son. It has a high quality cast including Susan Sarandon and Liv Tyler so presumably had something going for it, and sure enough the charm of this piece creeps up on you well before the end.
It is 'Fahrenheit 451', 'Silent Running' and several other googd films, and like most good films it is both funny and heartbreaking in turn. In fact, just like life.
