Review of Robot & Frank (2012) by Thomas P — 20 Sep 2014
Wonderfully heartfelt, hilarious in its intelligent slyness - a tiny quiet film that fully entertains.
An unexpected delight.
I doubt you'll see where this movie goes unless you've looked it up and ruined the surprises for yourself, but I loved this movie.
It deals with the subject of aging and family connections, and the absence of such.
And then it quietly takes a side road into some intriguing territory.
I loved it.
And I loved the ending especially.
I had heard nothing about the movie, except from two ppl who had seen it only said that it did not go the way they thot it would, as a good thing.
I was intrigued, and after seeing it, I can see why it won awards and even reached a few top ten lists.
A few f-bombs for humor might be off putting, and some family arguing, so be warned.
Brilliantly heartfelt. Quietly engaging, and amusingly adventurous.
5 mechanical greetings out of 5.
