Review of Robot & Frank (2012) by Cameron Liam I — 15 Aug 2013
The trailer makes this look like a good film, but it is in fact a great one. I laughed, I cried (ok, I didn't cry, but I recognised the moments where I might have cried had I been so inclined) - Frank's dry wit and tragic circumstances make for a compelling and moving story packaged neatly in a near-future SciFi tale of crime, friendship and romance that left me in stitches in places (Frank's verbal tirade on a mob of meddling Kids: 'Get away from that Robot you little bastards!') and moved me in others.
There is so many layers of meaning in here that this definitely warrants a rewatch, probably several. My first impression is that this is terrific and will be going straight into my permanent collection for further watching.
