Review of RoboCop 3 (1993) by Robert D — 04 Jan 2009
In a lot of ways better than RoboCop 2. Like storyline, it was much more coherent. However, too many one-liners, a couple of halfhearted feminist efforts, the absence of Peter Weller, and way too many attachments made this more of a commercial for the action figures than something watchable. All of the menace was gone from the corporate figureheads, instead replacing it with the menace of Japan? Lots of poorly executed climactic battles, killing off of characters we just can't care about, and WAY too much painful airtime for Robo and his fancy new jetpack...
But if Aronofsky were to restart the franchise.... oohh I would be very excited... Indeed.
