Review of RoboCop (2014) by Jason K — 01 Aug 2014
Like all resent remakes, this movie has the hollywood belief that a modernized story and fancy CG can replace the uniqueness, intelligence and soul that the originals had. The problem is it doesn't.
The actors did a great job (or the best they can do with the script) but "Robocop" feels stale and in a weird way generic. Also I am not a fan of what they did with the *Lewis" character.
Making Lewis a man wasnt a great idea, also in the original she was a important part of the story but now the character is so insignificant that with 5 minutes worth of rewriting Lewis could have been written out of the story completely.
Stick to the original folks.
