Review of RoboCop (2014) by Shane D — 18 Sep 2014
Updating what is essentially a cheesy piece of satire is always going to be difficult. To start proceedings, the new Robocop seems to be hitting all the right marks. The reconstruction of our 2014 Robocop and the process leading to his existence are reasonably on point, until you realise, you're missing the satire.
The over-the-top nature of the original has been replaced with a Clint Eastwood in a shiny suit looking to save his marriage. Works fine enough, but not enough to rally the troops behind the franchise for a sequel.
