Review of RoboCop (2014) by Dietmar D — 16 Mar 2015
No I'm not going to compare this one to the old one and then note how this one isn't as good. That's how people wearing the nostalgia goggles review. This one tries and passes. It's not what it could have been but it's also not bad. It asks the question just howmuch of a man's freedom may be taken away for the greater good and brings robocop onto the screen in a way that I can buy. Sadly, it also has the generic evil CEO archetype and family running around because we all know we can't have a movie without those!
Overal, it didn't bore me, and that's saying much already. It also didn't make me question whether or not it was written by monkeys, which says a lot more. Is it a gem? No. Is it worth your time? Yes, when you haven't anything better to watch and you just feel like watching a popcorn movie.
