Review of RoboCop (2014) by Christopher C — 22 Apr 2015
This ain't your Granpa's Robocop. Not the foul abortion that some people have made it out to be, this is exactly what it sets out to be. The original movie was a satire on 80s Capitalism, Corporation culture and Reaganomics.
This film uses the same basic plotline as a commentary on Drone Warfare and the post 9/11 position of the U.S. on the world stage in Iraq and Afghanistan and even takes the time, courtesy of Sam Jackson, to take the piss out of US media (although let's face it Fox News doesn't need help in that regard) Worth two hours of your life.
Only major criticism is that I don't think Joe Strummer would have approved of the use of "I fought the law..." On the end credits!
