Review of RoboCop 2 (1990) by Stuart A — 30 Jun 2008
Ropey in parts, this. As with the first one, I never saw this first time around so it was new territory for me. Fair do's, it was watchable, didn't drag and was substantially better than 99% of the fare currently on offer at the nation's multiplexes.
Considering this is just shy of twenty years old the effects are surprisingly passable too. Thanks in no small part to a welcome lack of that fluffy CGI nonsense, which I detest! I have been told that as the triology progresses, so the quality of film diminishes, and that rule certainly applies here.
It was no classic but certainly worth a watch. Plus, half way through there's a brief scene with a moustachioed hotdog vendor which tickled me pink. Probably going to watch Robocop 3 over the weekend.
Can't wait.
