Not as great as the orginal, but how can it be? Just like The Fly, they set the bar too high. I liked it up until the reveal of Cain as a robocop. That model just seemed silly and it felt like they spent too much of the budget on it, leading to them using a lot of matte paintings for city backgrounds.
