Review of RoboCop 2 (1990) by Ian R — 09 Feb 2014

I think Robocop 2 is an alright follow up to Robocop. There are plot points that I like that followed through, like exploring the threat of privatization as OCP tries to take over the city of Detroit. However, the human story of Robocop isn't as well done as in the first film.

Robocop's characterization doesn't seem to jive as well with his development from the first film. The action is still pretty good, and there are a couple of surgery scenes that still make me squirm (thank you to this movie for traumatizing me as a child).

All in all, I think Robocop 2 is OK for a watch now and then, but fails to carry the good momentum of the first Robocop.
