Review of RoboCop (1987) by Baurushan J — 12 Jul 2012
Before genius Paul Verhoeven gave us Total Recall, Basic Instinct and Hollow Man, there stood his classic and most liked upon those all, ROBOCOP! Starring Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, Ronny Cox and Kurtwood Smith.
The film is about a policeman named Alex Murphy who has been killed in the line of duty arresting a huge gang of underground thugs whom the department decides to resurrect as a half-human, half-robot, super-cop known as Robocop.
The new product is now an indestructible justice-seeker and within a matter of weeks, it has cleared the crime from the town. However, his human side is tortured by his past and now he is starting to become more human and because of this, he is starting to get his past back into his brain and is off to seek vengeance on the thugs that killed him.
Peter Weller was an iconic choice for Robocop and I'm pretty sure this remains one of the best science-fiction movies ever made. With a memorable soundtrack, a genius direction, a solid cast and amazing science-fiction thrills, Robocop gets a decent 10/10.
