Review of RoboCop (1987) by Aaron K — 02 Aug 2012
I never thought you could describe a movie as "Intelligent Ultraviolence" but to be honest, it is the first two words that come to mind when talking about Robocop. Paul Verhoeven delivers a satirical representation of capitalism, corporate politics and human disconnectivity against the backdrop of a dark, near-future urban sprawl.
With the help of a great cast who commit to their roles with exceptional flair, Robocop asks the questions we all want to ask, but were always afraid to. Smarter than you'd think, this cult movie classic surprised every critic who judged it by the title.
