Sheer brilliance on every level! :) The uber violence of '80's action films combined with corny one liners every 15 minutes will still draw a cacophany of laughs 25 years later. A deeper level, the film is a perfect anarchronism, accurately predicting things like the Star Wars Defense System debate, or the ongoing privatisation of the defense and penal systems.
Worthwhile viewing, check it out! :).
