Review of RoboCop (1987) by Emod L — 25 Jan 2015
This is what you call a solid action movie. Robocop was really fun to watch but had kind of a weak story. Murphy is killed by a group of wanted criminals and is turned into a robotic cop and is a near invincible crime fighter.
He tries to track down his killers and gets revenge. It's basically a big entertaining revenge story. It's really fun to see him use his new powers to fight all criminals in dangerous Detroit.
Every time it was him fighting crime I was really liking it. The villains in this are really well structured. They make you hate them as much as possible and it really works, they drove me CRAZY. The violence factor is really shot up in this movie which makes it all the more fun and cringeworthy.
The way that Robocop is still able to sort of access his emotions and memories before he was turned into a robot was interesting and made me wonder if he really broke the rule of robots feeling emotion.
The robot gone wrong at the beginning was really cool and I liked the stop motion. Robocop was a good action movie that was enjoyable all the way through, had a great ending and made me want more. B.
