Ahhhh, this reminds me of the good old days when I used to watch this on repeat on my lunch breaks at secondary school, notably to compare the toxic waste scene that melted one of the characters, to one of my friends when randomly hobbling across the road.

Adolescent amusement at its best! Joking aside though, this was, and still is a quality film. It's brutal to say the least as its gory, full of swearing, full of drug use and generally full of violence throughout.

In fact I see this as like a rival to Terminator due to their similar robotic connections, yet both are legendary spectacles within their own right. It does have a great story to justify the excessive narcotics and language, and in essence it's the concept that pulls this through as none of the actors are recognisable as a-listers that have gone on to do other things.

There are several sub stories and characters within this, each of whom it is made easy to relate to, although if anything this movie could have benefitted from being a little longer, which is something I don't normally suggest.

There's the potential to have explored more of the human side of Robocop with the connection to his family, and I enjoyed the roles of the villains so much that extending their screen time would have done wonders for he entertainment value also.

Despite what I did as a child, it's not something you would want your own children to witness, which possibly explains my peculiar hankering for the horror genre. Having said that, it is a great film and a classic of the 80's that has stood the test of time.
