Review of Robinson Crusoe (2016) by John B — 27 May 2017
There wasn't much I liked about "The Wild Life" - but at the same time, there wasn't a whole lot that I absolutely hated, or at least enough for me not to put this down as a terrible movie like most people are saying.
I'll be the first to admit - this movie doesn't deliver much, but it got good enough by the end to at least make it somewhat enjoyable for kids. However, kids are about the only people that would thoroughly enjoy this movie, and when I say kids, I mean kids under 5.
The dialogue, more specifically, the jokes in this movie were awful, none of them would've been funny to anyone besides the kids under 5, and even then that's a stretch. I will say, this movie showed flashes of potential, some of the characters were decently developed, and the characters were definitely more thought out than some of the other terrible animated movies out there.
When it comes to the animation - it was actually probably the best part of this movie. The animation was really good in this movie for it not being made by Disney, Dreamworks, BlueSky, etc. StudioCanal did a really good job with the animation, but, that's about the only thing they got right with this movie.
"The Wild Life" has characters and animation that are enjoyable enough to keep this movie out of the crap zone, but still has a serious lack in the dryness of the dialogue and plot, and is definitely not worth watching.
