Review of Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) by Elliot M — 27 Nov 2009
By far Mel Brooks' worst film ever (though that is pending High Anxiety and Silent Movie). The movie is the epitome of self-aware, to the extent that every joke stems from self-awareness. I love Spaceballs for it's self-awareness, and though it is stupid, I thought it was done in a clever way.
Here, you can predict every joke from a mile away, and there was one or two moments where I genuinely laughed. And Dave Chappelle, who normally is hilarious, here just quips for the camera and never really is that funny.
