Review of Robin Hood: Men in Tights (1993) by Amanda C — 26 Feb 2011
This film has everything that you expect from Mel Brooks. Nothing is subtle. It's completely outrageous, ridiculous and slightly offensive. All the actors give themselves completely to the absurdity of it all which is the only way that something like this can work.
The dance numbers a brilliant, and although some of the other gags fall a bit short, for the most part the film holds as pure entertainment. Mel Brooks cameo is terrible, but a cameo from Patrick Stewart more than makes up for that miss step.
