Review of Robin Hood: Ghosts of Sherwood (2012) by Brian R — 04 Dec 2012
This is quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen. It's not even ones of those "so bad it's funny" movies. Can't even watch it for that. The first 30 to 40 minutes are an info dump. It's nearly all telling and not showing which I didn't realize was possible for film.
The costumes look like they were picked up on the last day of a small local renaissance faire. The shoes look like Birkenstock sandals. The acting is flat and disengaged. Even the camera work was bad. There are sections where the heads of the actors are cut off and it's not for dramatic purposes. There's a pan to one guy's tunic...just a plain tunic. Not even one of those "look at this detail because it's important later on" things. Just a plain tunic. It seems as if the camera person either was absent and they didn't have the shot lined up correctly or the camera person fell asleep.
I stopped watching at around the 44min mark. No ghosts had yet shown up.
