I've always loved the tales of Robin Hood ever since I was a child. When I heard that they were making a serious live-action Robin Hood movie, I was very happy. When I heard that Cate Blanchett would play Marion, I was even more pleased! But I wasn't too excited about Russell Crowe playing the lead role.
Overall, the movie was a little slow, but I enjoyed it very much. It felt more like a long beginning of something good. I think this is partially due to not knowing exactly what to expect. Being Robin Hood, I was expecting the typical Robin Hood storyline of thieving from the rich for the poor, but what I got was the story of how Robin Longstride became Robin Hood.
Anyway, I liked it a lot and I hope to see a sequel, if not a trilogy, come from this. And in the end, I'm fine with Mr. Crowe's casting as well.
