Review of Robin Hood (2010) by Josef B — 07 Jan 2013
Not greatly thrilling. Full of the usual to-ing and fro-ing of armed men creating mayhem for the poor peasants. The back story, if wholly imagined, did have some plausibility, and Cate Blanchett is always very handsome. Russell does mumble so, though.
The technicalities of siege warfare are probably fairly accurate, but the historical background is a complete mashup. The ending seems to suggest that a sequel would not be impossible.
If you like this kind of fight romp then maybe this is entertaining enough, although some of the fight choreography could have been clearer.
