Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe, the Oscar-winning duo behind 2000's "Gladiator", team up again for this adaptation of the oft-told tale of "Robin Hood".

This movie, along with the Robert Downey Jr adaptations of "Sherlock Holmes", both recieve far more criticism from viewers and critics alike than I think the movies deserve. Certainly, a lot of that can be attributed to the iconic stature of their tales. Certainly "Robin Hood" was far different from the green tights and merry men that I'd envisioned when I first watched it.

But that's O.K. in my books. If every adaptation was the same, subscribed to a basic formula, then we wouldn't have Nolan's "Batman" series for a start. And this adaptation of the legendary theif doesn't do him the injustice many seem to accuse it of.
