Two small-time crooks in New York 1991 discover that Mafia social clubs are full of money and no guns, so they start robbing them (based on a true story). Unfortunately, the guy (Michael Pitt) is hot headed, dumb and never likable.

On the other hand, Nina Arianda has created a delightful character as the girlfriend. She got lots of comic moxie and is the only worthwhile thing about the movie (except Griffin Dunne's supporting role).

The script attempts to have emotional depth, but the writing and direction are flat. To make matters worse, it's predictable at every turn and the music is terrible. What starts out with a bouncy pace soon loses momentum and becomes a tedious yawn.
