Review of Road to Perdition (2002) by Orlando N — 14 Jan 2010
Very emotional comic book/gangster film. The bond between Hanks and his son that develops in the face of murder is a powerful one indeed, and is done extremely well here.Hanks turns in a great performance as the protective father trying to do what's right after a career of crime.
Craig was also good in his role.Law really pulls one out of left field and plays his role with just the right amount of creepiness. The big highlights are the costume design, art direction, and the visuals that emphasize the themes, especially the constant water throughout the film.
Mendes has made a very good film.
