A modern mobster classic, perhaps not in the same league as The Godfather, or Goodfellas-but certainly a film that deserves to be ranked among them. Having read the oriiginal graphic novel shortly after I saw the movie originally-I can see just how good an adaptation it is, admittedly with a touch of sentimentality that wouldn't be out of place in a Spielberg movie, but no less gripping or shocking.
