Review of Road to Paloma (2014) by Amusso18 — 11 Aug 2014
While not as good as it could have been, this was a very good movie. While the premise initially appears to be that Robert Wolf is on the run fleeing justice, it's actually more about him saying goodbye, knowing justice will catch up with him eventually.
People have complained about the slow pace, perhaps expecting car chases and explosions. But the pace of the film is just right for the story. There are scenes that could have been cut or shortened, but this film is exploring the life and emotions of a man who knows he will soon lose everything.
The film could have been more subtle in the way it portrayed vigilante justice, which is perhaps the biggest flaw. But it's not in-your-face, either.
In all, solid movie. And the cinematography is fantastic, by the way.
