Review of Rize (2005) by Amy H — 05 Jul 2005

Hmm haven't updated in a bit. Had a fairly exciting week or so. With a lotta interesting stuff and drama and all too. LOL. May/June man... I swear... sheesh.

So I think..supposedly... some things got resolved that weighed really heavily on me for a good month or two? I THINK. Hard to bank on it after all that's happened but we'll see.

Gave myself terrible tan lines on Wednesday while sunbathing. Then DDR. Then badminton. Good day of forgetting past troubles.

Festivities basically began on Thursday night at Element Lounge although the party was really pretty sad. But we made the best of it and went out since Jen was leaving for China soon. Ended up drinking quite a bit. Oops.

Friday went back to FC. Saturday rushed back and went to DNA which was fun. A lotta people were there. Too packed though and got tired early grr. Ate afterwards at good ol Lucky Penny's with a buncha peepz and once again I reiterate that all asians know almost all asians in the bay area =/.

Hungover Sunday but off I went to Stinson Beach except traffic was SO TERRIBLE it was cold and windy by the time we got to the beach. But still fun. Good thing I bought quite a bit of KFC to bring over since not much food was there. Relaxed, hung out, played a lil games, etc. Finally headed home pretty late. Got home late. Then suddenly headed back out to 1015 with Kitty and Derek. Didn't get there till past 12:30am and we were all tired. But a few raging bulls + GOOOOOO MUSIC + good ol 1015 + me = energizer bunny. I couldn't stop dancing. Gosh I missed that place and that music. =) Danced till 4pm, people were so tired, so finally went home.

Next day bummed around exhausted, then fireworks at Berkeley marina (which wasn't that great... FC fireworks better.. SF best by far). Had to walk pretty far since University was closed off before the freeway. Froze. Hungry. So afterwards we went to eat Korean BBQ.

In the course of the past week or so I've also seen Bewitched which was terribly droll and slow. Expected it to be much wittier and funnier with Will Ferrell in it and being written by Nora Ephron. =/ hmmm. Rize on the otherhand was pretty awesome. I liked it a lot. Although at times, it was hugely disorganized and I couldn't tell what it was trying to show. It would jump to ghetto urban tragedies for very long.. then back to krumping/clown dancing.. talk about how the dancing is such a good thing.. Tommy is such a good guy.. it all keeps people from doing bad things.. then it goes and shows a biased Battlezone and people getting mad and trashing each other's property. UMM. But anyway the music and dancing was awesome. =) Few documentaries can keep peoples' attentions that well.

Let's go dance more at 1015 and underground raves and stuff! =P Man I spent too much $ this past week though going out so much. =/ Need to stay home a few nites and not spend so much and do some things I need to do at home. =/.
