Review of Risky Business (1983) by Lucas Y — 16 Oct 2008
One of Cruises best performances, definitely his best movie of the 80's. You would think that the director would have a pretty decent portfolio, but this is actually his only film I've ever heard of.
I love the opening dream sequence with the girl in the shower. Most of the scenes with Cruise and DeMornay are very intense and sultry... and good. Joe Pantoliano is hilarious as the pimp. Curtis Armstrong (Booger from Revenge of the Nerds) provides some excellent comic relief.
A solid musical score featuring a couple good Genesis tracks tie into the film very well (train scene). This is just a really cool movie that is certainly worth a viewing. I own it. I liked it that much.
