Review of Risky Business (1983) by Nathan F — 06 Nov 2008
80's movies, in general, are best taken with a grain of salt; but even this one, with Tom Cruise nonetheless, tests your ability to enjoy teen comedies. The movie stumbles around from plot to plot, and although prostitutes are naturally, shall we say, enticing, it's hard to care what happens to anyone here.
Delivering boring lines as best he can, Cruise has a winning smile, but can't support the cardboard movie he's in; good thing he found celebrity, because a couple more of these would kill anyone.
Sometimes, as we are told here, you just have to say "What the fuck?".
