Review of Risky Business (1983) by Dan H — 14 Jul 2009
Risky Business is one of my favorite movies. Joel Goodson, a high school boy played by Tom Cruise, gets the house to himself for the weekend. As he deals with a spectrum of situations, ranging from a friend telling him that sometimes, he's just got to say, "What the fuck," to a Princeton University interviewer showing up in the midst of some "risky business," Joel's transformation really strikes a chord with the audience.
It's called and appreciated for being a teenage coming-of-age story, and it has deservedly received the honor of being called one of the best. Of course, all other things aside, there's that unforgettable scene on the train.
A must-see, in my opinion.
