Review of Risky Business (1983) by Bill T — 02 Aug 2010
When the parents are away - the son WILL fall for a prostitute. And dance in his underwear. "Risky Business" shot Tom Cruise to stardom and is one of those movies that everyone calls an '80s classic'.
I'm not saying it isn't an 80s classic, but there do seem to be a lot of those. "Risky Business" is the kind of movie we see several times a year these days, but they'll never be as memorable as this movie was.
Most people I know haven't seen this movie, but EVERYONE knows the scene where Cruise dances around in his shirt and undies to "Old Time Rock and Roll". It's iconic. And so was this movie, really.
I didn't find it overly funny, but for a sex-fuelled 80s teen movie about a boy and a prostitute it's pretty damn good.
