It's strange seeing Risky Business in today's age of crazy couch-jumper Tom Cruise, but the star's larger-than-life persona perhaps makes his fantastic work here even better. It's certainly one of Cruise's finest hours, as he creates an interesting portrayal of corruption.

The film straddles the line between fantasy and reality, adolescence and adulthood, business and pleasure, making a surprisingly complex teen comedy that takes a few surprising turns. Though ultimately predictable, and even with its butchered ending, Risky Business is a great relic from the eighties, and not just because of the famous underwear dance scene.
