Review of Risky Business (1983) by Dixon D — 12 Aug 2011
Very interesting to see early cruise in action. I thought this film was pretty entertaining, a teen dramedy for an older generation. though surrounded in a plot tied together by ridiculous events and antics, this film does make a good effort at bringing to the surface the disillusionment teens have with the preexisting establishment, best characterized in ferris bueller's day off.
tom cruise does a good job portraying a disillusioned young man who gets in over his head when his parents go out of town. he falls prey to some shady character and all hell breaks loose. definitely some very memorable scenes, but I ultimately did not like that he really didn't experience any repercussions for his negligence.
