Overrated for certain with an obviously overplayed, yet iconically sllly, stupid underwear dancing scene of a teenage Tom Cruise. But, the movie itself is actually better than I expected. All the stylized, voyeuristic directorial techniques designed to create the surreal overtones of a teenage boy's fantasy are a nice touch.
Some of it is is overkill, such as the drawn-out shots of a train as the boy and his hooker pal have sex [on a train]. Overall, though, it's a mood-driven, artistic piece.
