Review of Risky Business (1983) by Baurushan J — 10 Aug 2013
The story is about Joel played by Tom Cruise who is left to look after the house while his parents are on vacation. This leaves him to celebrate in his house alone only to find out that guests keep coming in and out of his house constantly especially a girl named Lana played by Rebecca De Mornay.
Joel learns how to live the life of rich teenagers with his friends while his parents are on vacation and falls in love with Lana who constantly sticks to his side as she is hiding from his boss. At the same time, Joel is trying to save his house before his parents get back home in case any of the properties are stolen.
The film launched Cruise to stardom by his legendary dance number, his smile wearing the Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses and his first movie in a lead role. Featuring one of Tom Cruise's earliest performances, this movie is arguably one of his best movies ever and one of the best teen comedies in history.
Risky Business gets a 10/10.
