Review of Rising Sun (1993) by Kea M — 01 Oct 2006
A surprisingly good action movie. Sean Connery and Wesley Snipes are mis-matched here but work oddly well. Connery again plays a fatherly/mentor style character which he is great at but it's getting a little old.
Wesley Snipes shows in the one fight scene that he is in, the early signs of the way he was in Blade. The storyline is suprisingly complex in the way that Enemy of the State or The Recruit was. The mixed setting of America and Japan works well creating a clash of cultures.
Overall a great action movie that surprised me with how good it was.
