Review of Risen (2016) by Eli R — 18 Feb 2016

It was only okay. The opening couple of scenes were very well done and quite gripping. Sets and locations were beautiful, stunning, and well thought out. Beyond that, the movie is slow to unfold and had me wishing I could hit fast forward.

The film is technically sound, but does contain a few shots that remind me of 90's films, and not in a good way. Also, as I find with many Bible based movies, the changes to the original story are completely unnecessary and do not add to the plot or character development.
