Review of Risen (2016) by Jared A — 20 Feb 2016
What this movie does so well is bring us back to the birth of a religion based in unconditional love. At its core, Christianity is supposed to teach that we should love every person regardless of their sins or background, which is a perfect message that has become bogged down only by man's nature and interference over the years.
There are definitely some strong moments where the perfect love that Jesus represents is on full display, and it really hits home if you are open to it. I found the film as a whole very refreshing, and at the same time it's essentially a crime drama!
