Review of Risen (2016) by Jim D — 27 Feb 2016
I loved this movie. Why? Solid acting all around. Especially great performance by Joseph Fiennes. Really good job with historical-feeling sets and locations. A wonderful score. An engaging script for any persuasion with great employment of tension, humor, character development, ensemble cohesion, etc.
. An interesting story line dealing with "Will our personal quest for peace forever elude us?" and "What if it really were true?" I can't imagine any watching the movie--without predisposition and just to enjoy a movie--not leaving the theater with at least a wistful yearning.
