Very good story and another exceptional performance by Joseph Fiennes, who is one of my favorite actors. However, whoever did the casting for this movie should be fired. Other than Fiennes, there wasn't a single, believable character in the whole picture.

The Disciples were more like a merry band of hippies than first century Jews. Bartholomew belonged in a surfer movie, not the story of the resurrection. The resurrected Christ never says anything of value.

And as usual, the script takes too many artistic liberties with the biblical story. The cinematography itself was great, and this could have been a five star movie if more care was given to the casting and biblical message.
