The movie was billed as being the closet to the biblical story, but in fact, it was not. It was made to put more doubt into a non believing public. Such as showing that the guards were drunk and when the Jewish leader went to verify that Jesus was in the tomb they never unwrapped his burial cloth to see his face, just to name a few.
The only way anyone will know the real story is to read the bible.
